We are allowed phones and cameras in the staff areas when off duty, but not allowed an photos of kids, or of the camp even when there is no kids during session

Amazing experience Yes you don’t get paid much, yes you pay more to go than you get paid there but it’s worth it Working with so many different kids from all sorts of life is amazing There’s not much time off as well but it’s still worth it
How much money do you need for camp America?
$800-$1350 Pocket Money This will be set and agreed upon before you leave and is determined by your age and role on camp
Do I get paid for camp America?
When you go through camp america you get paid a set wage your first year, depending on your skills its between $500 and $1000 or something Your camp gives you the amount Camp America sets, like for example I got $750 because I was 19 The rest of your wage goes to camp america directly from your camp
Are phones allowed in summer camp?
Many camps also have restrictions for cell phone usage by camp counselors and staff such that they are only to be used off duty and not in the presence of campers Likewise, campers are also typically prohibited from making calls or sending text messages on counselor’s cell phones
Do you get days off at Camp America?
If you are at a camp where the campers stay overnight, you will normally be given a period off during the day to have some time to relax Obviously there always needs to be staff working, so you’ll work on a rota basis with the other Counsellors You’ll also have certain evenings off and normally 1 full day off a week
Is there an age limit for Camp America?
You must be 18 years or over before the 1st June of the summer you want to take part in This is due to visa and insurance regulations that we must strictly follow You can still start your application and be interviewed before you turn 18 though!
How long is Camp America?
Although all of the camps that we work with have varying programmes and dates, we do ask that all applicants are available to be at camp for a minimum of 9 weeks This is the typical placement length for most camps but it can be slightly more or less
